Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp risponde ai fan sulla sessualità di Will

Il giovane attore di Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp, ha risposto alle polemiche del pubblico sul fatto che il suo personaggio sia gay, chiedendo ai fan “perché essere sensibile o solitario rende qualcuno un omosessuale?“.

So I thought it would be time to jump into the conversation. I’ve been reading stuff for a while. I think everyone here is missing the point. An author called Gary Schmidt came to speak at our school this week and he said that good stories aren’t supposed to leave you with answers because then you never question yourself and you forget about it. A good book, or a good show leaves a lot of unanswered questions but makes you think. Which is what you are all doing. For me, Will being gay or not is besides the point. Stranger Things is a show about a bunch of kids who are outsiders and find each other because they have been bullied in some way or are different. Does being sensitive, or a loner, or a teenager who likes photography, or a girl with red hair and big glasses, make you gay? I’m only 12 but I do know we all relate to being different. And that’s why I think the Duffers wrote the show the way they did. So you can ask all these questions. I hope the real answer never comes out! #dufferbrothers ❤️❤️

Qui sopra potete vedere il post pubblicato su Instagram che ha fatto discutere i fan. L’attore dodicenne si è sentito chiamato in causa e ha risposto: “Ho pensato che fosse il momento di intromettermi nella conversazione. Ho letto tante cose per un po’ e credo che tutti hanno perso di vista qualcosa“.

“Un autore chiamato Gary Schmidt è venuto a parlare nella nostra scuola questa settimana e ha detto che le buone storie non sono tenute a dare risposte…Un buon libro o un buono spettacolo lasciano un sacco di domande senza risposta, ma ti fanno pensare. E questo è quello che stanno facendo tutti“.

“Per me Will può essere anche gay ma non è questo il punto” ha detto Schnapp. “Stranger Things è uno show su un gruppo di ragazzi che si trovano l’un l’altro perché sono stati vittime di bullismo in un modo o in un altro. Significa essere sensibili, solitari, o solo adolescenti che amano la fotografia, ma non c’entra molto il fatto di essere gay!” Vedremo se nella prossima seconda stagione di Stranger Things ne sapremo di più su questo aspetto dei personaggi.
